State of the Region- Ventura County Development
Presented by Sandy Smith, Sespe Consulting
What are the new realities of housing in Ventura County? What design elements will we see as Ventura County moves away from single family large lot suburban development towards multi-family, apartments, and small lot single family development? Learn what’s going on in local development, as reported by our Community Development Directors.
Currently a Land Use Consultant for Sespe Consulting, Sandy Smith is responsible for providing strategic analysis and counseling, comprehensive land use planning and project planning and entitlement, and public hearing strategy development and representation – at the local and state levels.
A third generation resident of Ventura, Sandy has had a distinguished career as a public official, educator, community leader, and advocate. Currently a member of the graduate faculty in Public Policy and Administration at California Lutheran University, Sandy teaches classes in Urban Planning, Civic Engagement, and the Implementation of Public Policy. Sandy Chairs the Ventura County Civic Alliance, and co-chairs their Compact Working Group, an effort co- funded by the Southern California Association of Governments to develop a 30 year plan for sustainable development in Ventura County.
Additionally, Sandy is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ventura County Economic Development Association, and the Board of Directors of HOME, Housing Opportunities Made Easier.
